I'm so glad my parents didn't take the advice of my 2nd grade teacher. They knew I wasn't "slow" (as she said) and they sought a second opinion. They were then informed I was of normal intelligence, but that I had simply never learned to read. A lot of parents are quick to take the opinion of educators (even when they're not looking at the child in question through eyes of delight). I was lucky, I caught up and now am in my fourth year of university studying psychology, and earning straight A's.

Wonderful message sir----if only my father saw things that way. He always looked at me with disgust and resentment. Don't worry though, I turned out OK!

why bother?

just pump some amphetamines or cocaine-like compounds into your child!

its not a drug addiction if its for "ADHD"!

almost all of my teachers since kindergarten have complained to if my parents that im ADD and need to be medicated.

adderall, ritalin, coke, meth, speed---

these help you study and get good grades like a machine. if i would have been on it, i would have gotten perfect grades and ONE HELL OF A TOLERANCE. good luck coming off the speed.

oh, and if you act agressive at all, they will change the diagnosis from ADHD to childhood bipolar.

this will induce a bipolar swing - your kid will go from looking like an anorexic drug addict to a big obese jellyroll when one is switched to ANTIPSYCHOTICS.

if you cant give em a heart attack, try going for diabetes!

"its not a drug addiction if its for "ADHD"!"

Just because a drug is prescribed for something doesn't mean you can't get addicted to it? Many people are given pain medications for pain, they are highly addictive however and people develop physical and psychological addictions to them. Same w/ anxiety medications, amphetamines, etc.

Why bother to be a good parent? Just give them drugs.

Ehh I really hope they were being sarcastic, but I guess it's better to jump on them anyway. I just can't imagine anyone that actually has that perspective.

Sir, I salute you. I just listened to 10:46 minutes of sanity in a world gone mad. My deepest respect and admiration.

But surely you have been drummed out of the professional circles by now for these "heretical" viewpoints? ;-)
