The kissing of Hollywood actor Richard Gere and Bollywood actress
Shilpa Shetty at an event to promote safe sex and arise AIDS awareness among a
high-risk group raised controversy in India.
Gere had an impromptu hug and kiss on Sunday with Bollywood actress Shetty,
the winner of “Celebrity Big Brother” reality TV show in Britain
this year, in an anti-AIDS drive among truckers in India, the country with the
world’s largest number of people living with HIV.

Yeah, it’s not a big deal relative to bollywood. However, Shilpa Shetty said that “yeh thoda zyada ho gaya” which may not ring a bell for those of you that are far removed from the desi culture/language. Obviously she thought something was off, and he did seem like a horny pervert. What is alright in Hollywood is not necessarily as alright in Bollywood, and what’s alright in Bollywood has definitely been shown to not be acceptable in reality.
